WHAT CAN I HELP YOU WITH?

Have you felt stressed without knowing why? Have you been feeling down for no apparent reason? Are difficult memories from the past still with you years later, and you are not sure how to cope with them?

While we all tend to put these issues aside by putting them down to being a part of life, it is always worth exploring what is going on in our minds, as it will determine how we feel and how we live our lives. This is where CBT comes in. It can be used to help with a wide range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, phobias, and so on.

My Story

Hello there! My name is Emilie, I am a fully qualified CBT therapist. I offer counselling sessions in English or French.

I offer my clients a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what is going on for them, and teach them how to cope with their feelings and thoughts in a safe and healthy way.

The hardest part is to reach out. You are almost there.

  • Empathy and Compassion

  • No judgment

  • Unconditional Acceptance

What is CBT?

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It is a type of therapy based on the idea that we can change the way we feel by changing the way we think.

What we do in CBT is look at a challenging situation and explore the thoughts and emotions triggered by that situation. We then work towards challenging the thoughts in order to change the emotion linked to this situation.

"The curious paradox is that, when I accept myself as I am, then I can change.”

Carl Rogers

What therapy is

  • Team work involving both the therapist and the client.

  • An explorative and investigative process.

  • Hard, empowering and rewarding work.

  • Learning how to be your own therapist.

  • Taking responsibility for changing your own life.

What therapy is not

  • A magical cure which will make all issues disappear instantly.

  • A process during which the therapist will fix the client.

Testimonials

"I was very apprehensive before starting therapy because I was very scared to open up and I feared being judged. Emilie immediately made me feel comfortable and enabled me to open up like I never had before.
She behaves very professionally, humanly and shows a lot of benevolence. "
